This original artwork is a visual meditation on the greatest verse of the Qur’an, Ayatul Kursi (Surah Al-Baqarah 2:255) — a verse known in Islamic tradition as the verse of power, protection, and absolute sovereignty.

At the heart of the composition stands the Name Allah, placed in stillness at the centre, symbolising the Divine as the source of all existence. Surrounding it, the sacred words of Ayatul Kursi flow in a continuous circular form, creating a protective orbit — a reminder that Allah’s knowledge, authority, and mercy encompass all things without limit.

The circular motion reflects the meaning of the verse itself:

“His Kursi extends over the heavens and the earth, and their preservation does not tire Him.”

The ring of calligraphy becomes a spiritual boundary, a shield of remembrance, echoing the prophetic teaching that reciting Ayatul Kursi brings protection, peace, and nearness to Allah.

The textured, almost cosmic surface represents the vastness of creation, while the contrast between light and shadow reflects the human condition: fragile, searching, yet always held within Divine control.

White marks across the surface appear like flashes of light, symbolising moments of guidance, mercy, and unseen protection that surround the believer even when they are unaware.

This piece is not only meant to be seen, but to be lived with —
a daily visual dhikr,
a reminder of tawakkul,
and a presence of barakah within the space it inhabits.

Ayatul Kursi is often recited for protection, for comfort, and for strength.
This artwork translates that recitation into form —
a circle with no beginning and no end,
just as the power of Allah has no limit.
